We will meet at various locations, bring our own crafts and materials to work on, all while engaging in conversation and encouragement.

Calling all wine lovers! Join us as we explore the Northern Virginia Wine Region. Each month, we’ll visit a different winery or restaurant. We’ll taste some wines, eat lunch, and enjoy great conversations.

Love to read? Once a month we meet for book discussions and social time.

This group loves to teach and welcomes newcomers.

Come on out and enjoy this “game of a thousand bits of intelligence”.

Evening Mahjongg meets every other Monday at 7:00 pm.

From the Smithsonian to Symphonies, and Gardens to Gargoyles, join this group to be a tourist in your own town! There is no “set” day of the month for outings this year— so members will need to watch the dates.

AFOSC Hiking Club exists to provide opportunities to exercise and socialize. We hike, walk, kayak, dine, and enjoy each other’s company.

Tea Time meets monthly at various locations with other tea enthusiasts to share their love of tea!

Dinner Club - Have a night out with some friends and enjoy dinner on the town.

Lunch Bunch - Feeling adventurous? Come and try a new lunch spot and socialize with friends on the waterfront or explore downtown. Foodies galore!

Global Ties is intended for International and US spouses who are interested in forming friendships and sharing cultures. Monthly outings highlight places and activities that are unique to this area or unique to the USA. For example, in the past we have visited a pumpkin patch; enjoyed a ghost tour in historic Old Town Alexandria; learned about the Super Bowl; ice skated at Pentagon Row; and walked around Capitol Hill to see the cherry blossoms.

Global Ties is a great opportunity to see and do new things in the local area while developing relationships with spouses from around the globe. We hope you’ll join us!
