FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Where do we get our funds?

-Our welfare funds come from sales from our Thrift Shop and working with the Air Force Charity Gala.


  • Who can make a request and receive Welfare Funds?

-The ASFSC accepts requests that are for charitable, scientific, or educational purposes.

-The goal is to reach as many military families as possible with the donations.

-The ASFSC is unable to fund requests specific to food for parties/socials and does not give to politically sensitive and/or religious causes.


  • What is the process for submitting a request for funds from the ASFSC?

-All requests must be in writing and submitted to the Welfare Chair.  Information about your organization and use of funds should be included with submitted request form.  Click the button below to download a copy of the Welfare Request Form.

  • What is the AFOSC process for making a welfare donation decision?

-Once the request is submitted to the Welfare Chair, it is presented to the Welfare Committee for discussion and voting.

-If the committee votes to present it to the board, the Welfare Chair will present it at the monthly board meeting for discussion and final vote. The board meetings occur the first Tuesday of the month. After official vote has been conducted, the request may be processed and check disbursed by the Welfare Treasurer.
